Hello!

Welcome to Bodhi Tree Bookkeeping. It’s a very exciting time for me, as my new website has just gone live!

Disclaimer: This is the first time I’ve ever attempted to write a blog, so please bear with me…

I should introduce myself – I’m Alison and I run Bodhi Tree Bookkeeping. I’ve been working as a bookkeeper for 15 years now. I was employed in a Sales & Marketing company, until I was suddenly made redundant in May 2021. Although I had many years’ experience in bookkeeping, I didn’t have a qualification, as I had been trained in-house. I decided to rectify this and studied for an AAT Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting.

I started Bodhi Tree Bookkeeping in 2021. The name and logo were very important to me, as they needed to reflect my personality. The Buddha is said to have meditated under the Bodhi Tree and gained enlightenment (I’m paraphrasing, ha!) and I hope to bring some of this calm and clarity to my clients. I know finances and figures can be stressful for people and I love helping my clients make sense of their accounts and feel more confident in their business.

As for the logo, I had an idea of what I would like and my husband helped me design it. I wanted it to be colourful and it needed to have a tiny bit of pink in it, to match my hair!

That’s a snippet about the company and how it came to be. Now for a little bit about me…

I live in the countryside with my husband and we both consider ourselves very fortunate to be surrounded by nature every day. I love animals and have two cats, who I love to bits. I am a huge music fan and buy lots of records and go to as many concerts as possible. I love taking photos with my Sony a6000 when I’m out walking in the hills and woods near our home. I also love art, and although it’s not really where my talents lie, I like experimenting with alcohol inks and more recently, AI Art.

I hope I haven’t bored you to death, so thank you if you’ve read this far. I promise my future blogs will be more useful and will be packed full of tips to help you organise your finances, save money on tax and perhaps have an odd bit of humour here and there!
